I disagree. It was definitely not convenient to "change sides" (return to my original set of beliefs, values, and philosophies, that I had left, over 2 years ago). I was well-aware that I (understandably) would not be welcomed back with open arms by members of the trans community (or allies). Why would I? I'm getting probably equal portions "temporary applause" and earned wariness/distrust, especially by anyone who doesn't know me personally. The few online friends I had in the past have been incredibly gracious, and I feel very grateful for that.

Perhaps selfishly? I feel such relief to no longer be trying to force myself into a set of beliefs that, at best, was an ill-fitting suit.
